Metformin is a biguanide investigated for its effects on insulin sensitivity, AMPK activation and biological aging. The Targeting Aging with Metformin (TAME) trial is a planned multi-center study designed to test whether metformin delays the onset of age-related diseases as a group rather than treating them one by one.
